Leinster Junior Cross Country 24th October
Leinster Cross Country Junior Ladies Champion.
Roisín O'Reilly travelled to Mountain View in Kilkenny on Saturday to compete in the Leinster Cross Country Junior Lady Championships. An unusual course as it was held on a golf course resulting in a challenging course with plenty of little climbs to test the athletes. Roisín took on the race in her usual style of leaving nothing on the course and staying up at the front of the race as it progressed. A gritty performance from an experienced athlete saw her claim gold and is now the Leinster Cross Country Junior Ladies Champion.
Congratulations to Roisín & her coaches on a result well earned.
Open Junior Cross Country, Abbottstown
In the Autumn Open Cross Country Junior Women's race today in Abbottstown Roisin O'Reilly competed in her club colours. A competitive field of athletes saw a great race and Roisin finished strongly in a fantastic 3rd place claiming bronze.
Congratulations Roisin on a great result.

Eimear Halpin was representing her school Loreto Wexford at Intermediate at the Leinster Schools Combined Events. She amassed a very credible 2526 points at the event in Abbottstown on Saturday, well done Eimear.

Barcelona Ironman
We all look to challenge ourselves with fitness challenges. Some climb mountains, run 1/2 marathons or marathons or even building up to a triathlon. However some are not content with that and take on something much more challenging - an Iron-man.
Club member Tony Harpur headed off to Barcelona to take tackle the tough distance involved, a sensible shortened swim due to tough sea conditions, 180km cycle into strong headwinds for large sections and finishing with 'just' a marathon as the run section of the event.
A challenging event but he was well up for it.
Congratulations Tony and his equally mad brother Mark on the superb achievement and now you can be called true Iron-men.
Enjoy the recovery

Galway 10km
When Galway 10k called up stepped Sinead Ryan & Oliver Stack. They made the long trip over to Galway to run the 10k around Salthill hugging the seafront. A lovely course by all accounts. After some dedicated training Sinead pushed hard and broke her PB for the distance, great to see Oliver back running well after his recent injury.
Well done folks.
