Mr Oil County Novice Road Race
United Striders were the kind hosts of last nights Novice Road Race. It was held on a nice warm evening but the rain arrived halfway through the mens race in Rathgarogue. The race loop was 2.8k and a testing run for everyone with just enough uphill to challenge the legs.
The ladies 4k Race was first to start and they had 1 & 1/3 laps of the loop to complete. Our ladies all ran fantastic and claimed the County Novice Bronze Team medal , a fabulous result. Huge congratulations ladies.
Next up the mens race and the pace was hot right from the start. Our 7 ran there hearts out as they completed the 2 and a bit loops finishing in the rain to cool everyone down. Well done men.
Well done to both the County Board & United Striders on holding a successful County Race. Thanks to Helen Sinnott who was our official on the night and to our supporters who travelled.

Mr Oil County Track & Field Championships
What an evening for athletics as the sun shone down on Enniscorthy Sports Hub. A wonderful sight to see all the club colours as athletes warmed up in preparation of doing battle for the right to be crowned County Champion.
Helen turned up to retain her Steeplechase title and claimed her 3rd County title in a row. The two Ryan's had no idea what to expect and gave it everything. Fantastic to see everyone go out of their comfort zone and get stuck in with some availing of the opportunity to try out a new event.
Lots of medals were won on the night and the highlight was seeing both our ladies and men's teams competing in 4x400m relays. The ladies dug deep and were rewarded with Bronze and the Men had a fantastic run to win Gold.

A fantastic evening of road relays took place on Friday evening at Wexford Racecourse. A perfect venue as approx 80% of the course can be seen from the changeover area meaning everyone can see the races develope. It was a wonderful sight to see the response from the clubs of the county as everyone proudly ran their hearts out for their club. The loop was 1.5k with a nice 'gentle' climb to test the legs. Unfortunately no medals this year for Menapians AC but the effort from every single athlete was inspiring to watch so well done to all who pulled on our vest and ran.
Thanks to Wexford Racecourse for allowing us use their venue, to Wexford County Board for organising the madness and to our club members who made the event happen organising refreshments and cleaning up afterwards. A special mention must go to our club Captain who somehow managed to get 12 teams to the start line and even managed to run himself so well done John Dier .

The games took place in SETU Carlow in glorious weather. Our member Elijah Page Redmond was competing for St Peters College but also representing his club/county wearing the Leinster vest.
This alone is a fantastic achievement and then Elijah threw his javelin further than he ever threw before reaching 45.46m setting a new PB.
A Silver medal was his reward and was enough to earn him a spot at the upcoming SIAB Games in Derby, England. The top 2 in each event in the country qualify to travel and represent Ireland so this is a fantastic achievement for Elijah.
Well done and thanks to his coaches for their work and time to coach him.
A massive congratulations Elijah from everyone at the club.
